Fund news

Dynamic launches new liquid alt fund

Dynamic Funds on Oct.1 announced the launch of its Dynamic Multi-Alternative PLUS Fund, a new liquid alternative mutual fund designed as a one-ticket solution for investors seeking attractive risk-adjusted return potential, and lower correlation to traditional markets.

The fund aims for income and long-term capital appreciation by investing across a wide spectrum of assets (debt, options, structured finance, equity and private assets), while dynamically adjusting allocations based on prevailing market conditions.

The fund is co-managed by Dynamic managers Richard J. Lee and Nick Stogdill.

J.P. Morgan launches fixed-income ETFs

J.P. Morgan Asset Management Canada on Oct. 1 announced the launch of JPMorgan US Ultra-Short Income Active ETF (TSX: JPST) and JPMorgan US Bond Active ETF (TSX: JBND).

JPST invests primarily in high-quality, short-term corporate and structured debt, aiming to provide investors with a conservative option for generating income. JPST currently seeks to achieve its investment objective through investing all or substantially all of its assets in JPMorgan Ultra-Short Income ETF, a U.S. ETF listed on the NYSE Arca.

JBND aims for downside protection while seeking to achieve strong risk-adjusted returns through active management. The strategy takes a disciplined, value-driven approach that relies on careful analysis of individual issuers and securities.

Canada Life debuts new equity income mutual funds

Canada Life Investment Management Ltd. on Sept. 8 announced the launch of three new enhanced equity income mutual funds, the Canada Life Canadian Enhanced Equity Income Fund, Canada Life U.S. Enhanced Equity Income Fund, and Canada Life International Enhanced Equity Income Fund.

In a release, Canada Life said the funds offer diversified exposure to Canadian, U.S., or international equity markets, with the potential for enhanced cash flow, long-term capital growth, and lower overall portfolio volatility compared with their respective broad-based benchmarks. Each fund may use an actively-managed covered call strategy, which involves holding one or more ETFs and writing call options on a portion of the ETF’s exposure. The funds will be sub-advised by Irish Life Investment Managers.
