Michael Hatcher is a portfolio manager for the Invesco Canada Equity team.
In 1996, Mr. Hatcher began working as an economist in the private sector and at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. He then worked at MFC Global Investment Management (a subsidiary of Manulife Financial Corp.) as a portfolio manager before moving to Burgundy Asset Management Ltd. At Burgundy, Mr. Hatcher was initially a senior investment analyst, focusing on Canadian equities and then European equities. He was later promoted to vice president, responsible for co-managing European equities.
Mr. Hatcher joined Invesco in 2009 as a vice president and portfolio manager. He was appointed Director of Research in 2011 and Head of Global Equities in 2012 for the Invesco Canada Equity team.
Mr. Hatcher graduated from the London School of Economics with an MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics. He also earned a Master in Mathematical Finance from the University of Toronto and a BA (Hons.) in Economics and a BA in Statistics from Carleton University. Mr. Hatcher is a CFA charterholder.
